Should I Have My Home Cleaned while on Holiday

Have you planned your summer holiday yet? Whether you are travelling abroad or just to another part of the UK, chances are you don’t want to spend the whole summer at home. Very often, when going away for a while, regular domestic cleaning clients wonder if they should keep their appointments. That’s a personal choice above everything else, but there are some benefits you may want to consider before you cancel your cleaning visit.

Maintenance is Key

People believe they only need to clean a home when there are people living in it because of the mess they create. Sure, it’s much messier when adults and children carry out their daily activities at home. Dirt, however, accumulates all the time, with or without your presence in the property. Dust particles, allergens and a variety of microorganisms continue to inhabit and spread in your home even if you are not there. Regular cleaning during your holiday is still very important for the maintenance of a healthy home.

Cost-Efficient in the Long Run

Many clients who choose to cancel their regular appointments while away, then find themselves in need of a deep clean. The longer your property goes without cleaning, the more there is to do once the cleaner is back. Deep cleaning takes a longer time and is also more expensive than regular visits. So, if you just keep your regular cleans while on holiday you can save money.

Come Back to a Welcoming Environment

Hopefully you had an amazing time during your trip. You are now relaxed and positively charged. Imagine how your mood would spoil if you came back to a home that doesn’t look its best. You will feel the difference in the quality of air. Some surfaces would have accumulated dust and generally the energy you feel wouldn’t be as welcoming as you would wish.

Alternatively, if your cleaner kept coming to the property while you were away, they would make sure the environment looks and feels cosy. At Bredon Hill Cleaning Services we pay great attention to the smallest details. What our clients love the most about our service is that we always add a little extra to make them feel special.

Security

Some people are uncomfortable letting cleaners in while they are far away from home. However, if you have a regular cleaner they almost become a part of the family. Therefore, it is someone you can trust to keep an eye on your home while you are gone. Domestic accidents happen when the residents are not in and if you can rely on someone to check the property even just once a week, that’s still a major security plus.

What is your opinion on having cleaners in while you are on holiday? Let us know what feels right for you. Also, if you are one of our regular clients and decide not to keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, so we can update our schedule and give your slot to someone else.

Should You Book a Cleaning Service while on Holiday

It’s the season of holidays and time away from home. Even though this year our travel plans may have been affected by the Coronavirus, a lot of people are still packing their suitcases to a warmer, sunnier and more carefree destination. If that’s you, today we want to talk to you about booking a cleaning service while you're on holiday.

Many people feel uneasy letting cleaners in their homes if they aren’t around. We certainly understand some of the concerns. Unfortunately, there are some dishonest providers whose actions affect the whole industry. But that’s exactly why we are writing this blog. We hope that after you read it you will know how to choose a trustworthy cleaning company and enjoy the benefits of having your home cleaned while you enjoy yourself elsewhere.

The Trust Factor is Always Important

It’s hard to drop the keys of your house to complete strangers and not feel anxious about it. Your whole life and personality gets unlocked when they enter your home. And that’s why it is vital to choose a cleaning provider you can trust. We recommend always using a company as opposed to an independent cleaner or an agency. This way you can rest assured that the staff sent to your home is DBS checked and well-trained. Even if there was an accident in your home or the cleaner caused some damage, the company’s insurance will be able to cover that. In the case of a freelance cleaner or an agency, this is not guaranteed.

Your Home Needs a Clean Even if You Are Not There

Many people cancel their regular cleaning visits when they go on holiday because they think there’s no need to clean the house if no one lives there for a week or two. But that’s not the case. Dust, bacteria and mites accumulate daily with or without human activity. If you have a regular domestic cleaner, don’t cancel their visit while you are away. They still have a lot of work to do in your home even if you are not there. Furthermore, they could use that time to give you a little extra. Perhaps they can perform elements of deep cleaning and still keep the rate you pay for regular domestic clean. It’s a great bargain!

There’s No Better Feeling than Coming Back to a Clean and Fresh House

If you are still wondering whether you should book a cleaning service while you are on holiday, stop. Just do it! You will never regret coming back home to a completely sparkling, tidy and refreshed home. Imagine what a bummer it would be if you had to start wiping off dust and dirt right after you’ve landed from a relaxing and fun trip away. Keep the high vibration for longer with an inviting and cosy home.

Cleaners Are More Efficient when You Are Not There

There’s one more benefit to having your home cleaned while you are away. It’s done much quicker! Cleaners usually work much more efficiently when they are alone in the client’s premises. It gives them a better opportunity to plan their activities in each room and optimise their time. That’s great for you, because you receive even better value for the money you pay.

Booking a cleaner during your holiday could turn out to be the best decision you can take. So, don’t overthink it. Go on holiday with a peaceful mind and return to a beautiful, welcoming home.

5 Tips to Maintain Your Bedding Fresh and Clean

5 Tips to Maintain Your Bedding Fresh and Clean

We spend a third of our life in bed. This is a place of relaxation and restoration. It only makes sense to put every effort to keep this place nice and neat. But do you know what it takes to maintain your bedding fresh and clean? You can follow our 5 professional tips.

1. Take care of your pillows

Washing the pillows is an essential part of maintaining your bedding fresh and clean. Some pillows are dry-clean only, others can be machine-washed. Use a mild detergent and only put half a dose in the washing machine. Set on 30ºC in a quick wash programme. Take a step further to ensure maximum freshness - rinse once or twice more to get rid of the detergent residue completely. As for the spinning, once won't be enough. Spin twice to make sure you extract the most water. If you are using a dryer, put a tennis ball or two to help the pillows come out soft and full. If drying naturally, leave them for a day under direct sunlight.

2. Wash your bed linen often

Some would argue that the frequency of washing bed linen is personal preference. While we are not judging anyone, we would recommend washing your bed linen at least once every two weeks. It's more hygienic and helps your sleeping environment stay fresh and clean. You should wash your sheets and duvets in warm water – 40-60ºC degrees. Always check the manufacturer label first. Some bed linen is not suitable for washing in domestic environment and can only be dry-cleaned.  Stains can be treated with your preferred stain remover brand. For better results add a scoop of the stain remover inside the washing machine as well.  The last step of maintaining your bed linen fresh and clean is ironing. The heat kills bacteria and other nasty bugs and makes the sheets feel like new.

3.Don't forget to wash the duvet and coverlid

Many people believe as long as their bed linen is clean, the duvet and coverlid don't need that much attention. However, that's not the case. You should wash your duvet at least once a month. Same goes for any throw or coverlid you use. As with the rest of the bedding, you must always check the label before you attempt to wash your duvet. It may require dry-cleaning. If it's ok to wash it at home, use the same programme you would for pillows. For the drying process, also do what you would do for pillows.

4. Daily care gives best results

Did you know our body releases between 150g and 200g sweat a night?  Not very fresh, right? So while you are having your morning coffee and checking social media, why not take out your duvet to get some fresh air for 10-15 min? Opening a window for half an hour before going to bed will also allow fresh air to come in and make your bedroom more pleasant and easier to sleep in.

 5. Use more organic products

Chemicals are dangerous for our health. It's not only what we put inside our bodies, but also what we expose them to. Scientists have proven a connection between cleaning products and detergents and some cancers. To minimise the risk of endangering your health, use more organic products to maintain your bedding fresh and clean.
