Serviced Apartments & Holiday Homes – Is It a Commercial or Domestic Cleaning

Summer is here and with the restriction on lockdown easing more and more, many people will be planning a short escape to the countryside or perhaps a quiet family holiday away from the familiar setting.

For many years, Bredon Hill Cleaning Services has provided professional cleaning services to over 40 holiday homes and serviced accommodation in the Tewksbury area. Our managing director and co-founder of DCBN, Hristina Anastasova, says this is her favourite type of cleaning.

Just recently Ms Anastasova gave a video presentation to DCBN members and other cleaning professionals outside of the network, who want to learn more about servicing such a property.

There’s a clear debate on whether cleaning serviced apartments and holiday homes could be classified as domestic or as commercial cleaning.

Like she said in her video, Bredon Hill Cleaning Services Director believes this type of cleaning is unique and has different elements of both commercial and domestic cleaning. She also shared the process our company has adopted when onboarding new clients for this particular type of service.

What Happens First

After receiving an enquiry to clean a holiday home, we book a visit to the place with the client. We want to see every inch of the property and find out every little detail about our new client’s needs and expectations. Our visits are usually 40-50 minutes long and we come prepared with a lot of questions. But this is not to interrogate the client or appear nosy. We just want to make sure we will be maintaining the property exactly as the client wants it and has advertised it. That’s important for the satisfaction of their customers and we know when they are happy, our clients are happy. That’s our goal and motivation.

At the end of the visit, we present the new client with a welcome pack. It includes some information about our company, the terms and conditions of the service, available add-on or extra services such as laundry and ironing and stocking of supplies.

What Happens Next

Usually, by the end of the visit we’ve managed to impress our client and they can’t wait to receive our quote so we can seal the deal. As soon as we get back to the office Ms Anastasova sends teh custom quote to the client and we wait for the response.

In most cases, the client comes back pretty quickly with a go ahead. One important thing we always do is inspect the property together with the client after the first clean. This way we have the opportunity to make notes of anything the client might want us to change, do better or particularly likes exactly how it’s done.

How to Get the Children Involved in Cleaning at Home

Children are having a hard time staying at home for such a long time and not being able to see their friends. For some families it is even more challenging, especially if they have no garden where kids could play. The house ends up in a bigger mess than usual. But, there are ways you can get children involved in cleaning at home and make it fun.

Dance it Out

Everything is fun when you throw in some dance moves. And children love that. You can have a groovy song on and dance while dusting or wiping the windows. Let the children do the same.

Dancing is also a form of exercise and quite entertaining at that. You have healthy children and a clean home all at once. Doing it often will create great habits for them to last a lifetime.

Announce a Cleaning Contest

We don’t actually know a child who doesn’t like competitions with prizes in the end. Allocate rooms or corners for each member of the family and tell them whoever cleans well their area first is the winner. The prize could be whatever you feel is appropriate - an extra 30 minutes after bedtime, a sweet, a favourite activity they don’t get to do often. Just make sure it is really appealing to the children, so they get stimulated to clean and do it well.

Have a Quest at Home

Prepare some cards with small tasks like for example “Make the bed”, “Put the dirty clothes in the laundry basket”, “Wash the plates”, etc. Make sure they are age appropriate, of course. Older children can have more complicated tasks. Give them one card at the beginning, which would be a map journey to the treasure at the end of the quest. When they complete each task they will receive a card with the next step until they get to the final stop and the reward.

Hide Rewards

Put some coins (or chocolate candy!) in the places that need cleaning. Tell your children if they clean those spots properly they will be able to find all of the hidden rewards. That certainly makes domestic cleaning a lot more fun.

Don’t Expect Them to Do All the Cleaning for You

You can’t expect children to enjoy cleaning for too long. Tasks should take no more than 30 minutes all together. And of course, they would be relatively easy. It’s important for kids to see this activity as a game or a bonding time with you rather than a simple house chore.

Your Attitude Matters

Always encourage your children to get involved in domestic cleaning even if they don’t get it quite right. It is important to show them that you appreciate their efforts and practice makes perfect. Also when you do the cleaning yourself show a positive attitude. Children often copy their parents behaviour whether they realise it or not.

Steps to Effective Spring Cleaning During the Lockdown

One of the main benefits of lockdown is that now we have enough time to do a thorough spring clean of our homes. This is actually very important during a period of a global pandemic, because your home needs to be clean and sanitised at all times. It is also a great opportunity to get rid of things you don’t need or rarely use.

The Kitchen

We would recommend starting from the kitchen, because this is the place with most appliances and often needs a lot of sanitising and decluttering.

Step 1. Begin the process of oven cleaning. It takes some time, so you should start by soaking the racks in warm soapy water and applying oven cleaner to the inside of the oven. This would need 30-60 minutes to start acting.

Step 2. While you are waiting for the oven cleaner to work and the racks to soak, take everything out of the fridge and wipe it inside and out. Throw away everything that may have passed its expiry date.

Step 3. Take everything out of the cupboards and the pantry. There might be stuff that has sat there for too long and it has to go. Wipe and disinfect your cupboards inside and out. You could even use the vacuum cleaner to get rid of any spillage or cobwebs.

Step 4. By now your racks should be ready to be scrubbed and the oven cleaner would have done its magic. Wash the racks and let them dry. You could use an old toothbrush to scrub any burnt on and other greasy pieces. Wipe the oven with a sponge and warm soapy water.

Step 5. Soak your pots and descale the kettle. You can use white vinegar to get rid of any calcium build-up and to give that new shine to your pots.

Step 6. Scrub the stoves and wipe all working surfaces with antibacterial wipes. Rearrange any plates, glasses or jars in the cupboards if they are looking cluttered.

Step 7. Wash your soaked pots and pans and let dry.

Step 8. Mop the floor with a disinfectant.

Your kitchen is now good as new!

The Bathroom

Next comes the bathroom. That’s another place that you can never clean too often and it needs special attention.

Step 1. Descale the shower head and the shower cabin door or the bathtub. Apply apple cider vinegar or a limescale remover on the problem areas and let it sit for about half an hour.

Step 2. Apply a toilet cleaner to the toilet bowl and let it act.

Step 3. Take everything out of the cabinets and vanity. There’s usually quite a lot of stuff that has expired without you noticing. All those face creams you use close to never should also go. Wipe the cabinets inside and out.

Step 4. Wipe the walls in the bathroom. They too need some cleaning attention. If there is a radiator in the bathroom, this should be cleaned as well.

Step 5. It’s now time to scrub the shower cabin, bathtub and the shower head. Hopefully all hard to get out stains should have softened and it would be relatively effortless to clean them off.

Step 6. Use the toilet brush to clean the toilet. Your toilet brush holder should be cleaned too! Flush the old water that’s in the holder and add new one with a few drops of tea tree oil. It has antibacterial properties, which may help prevent infections.

Step 7. Wipe and disinfect the sink.

Step 8. Mop and sanitise the floor.

You can place a scented candle or a diffuser to give the bathroom a fresher feel.

The Living Room

You will have a lot of work in your living room. Remember spring cleaning involves moving furniture and cleaning behind and under it too!

Step 1. Start by opening the windows to allow fresh air to come in.

Step 2. Take the curtains off and put them to be washed or take them to a dry cleaner. You can also add any washable cushion covers, sofa covers or small rugs.

Step 3. Move the heavy furniture and clean behind and under it using a vacuum cleaner and wipe if needed. Don’t miss the radiators! They need a good scrub and dusting to work properly.

Step 4. Wipe and dust the light fixtures and the skirting boards.

Step 5. Declutter, declutter, declutter. Old magazines, newspapers and stuff you don’t use must go. Books you’ve read and are unlikely to go back to can be donated. Same goes for furniture and souvenirs you don’t want to keep any longer.

Step 6. Think of ways to use your wall space. Get as much free space on the floor as possible.

Step 7. Give your carpet some love. Treat any stains with the appropriate carpet cleaning products. Always check the manufacturer instructions before you do anything to your carpet! You may end up doing more damage than good if you use the wrong product or solution.

Step 8. Mop and disinfect the floor.

Think about rearranging the furniture, adding new colours and using an aromatherapy diffuser to brighten your home and make it a more exciting place.

The Bedrooms

You sleep better when your bedroom is clean, well aired and with minimal clutter.

Step 1. Put all your bedding and curtains for a wash. Items that can’t be washed in the washing machine should be taken to a dry cleaner or you could use a commercial laundry service like the one we offer at Bredon Hill Cleaning Services.

Step 2. Dust and flip the mattress. It will help you sleep better.

Step 3. Dust and wipe the light fixtures, the skirting boards and any furniture.

Step 4. Pay special attention to your closet and wardrobe. It’s time to rearrange it. Winter clothes should go in boxes or at the back. Bring forward the light and bright spring and summer outfits. Needless to say you should get rid of everything that is small or you haven’t worn in over a year. Donate it to a charity shop or anyone you know may be needing some good quality clothes.

Step 5. Clean the area behind and under the bed and the bed stands.

Step 6. Wipe and dust the radiators.

Step 7. Vacuum the floor or mop and disinfect if it is a hard floor.

Step 8. Allow fresh air to circulate and wipe the windows inside and out.

Adding a lavender scented candle to your bedroom is a great touch. It will help you relax and calm your mind.

During your spring cleaning you should pay attention to your windows and clean them both inside and out. Your garden, shed and garage may also need decluttering and tidying up.

Usually spring cleaning takes a few days for non-professionals. But it could be a great bonding experience for the whole family.

Alternatively, if you feel it is too much work and something you would absolutely not enjoy, we are ready to step in and get it all done in just one day. Our cleaners are trained to practice all safety measures during a lockdown without this affecting the quality of their job.

safe-office-staff-after-covid

Making Your Office Safe for Staff After COVID-19

Easing the lockdown means that many people will be coming back to their usual work places rather than working from home. However, more than 60% of the UK employed population is now reluctant to go back to the office. The main reason for this is concern over the working conditions and fear of catching and spreading the virus again. As an employer, who needs their staff back on site you need to ensure them you’ve taken all necessary measures to provide a safe working environment.

Office Deep Cleaning

If your commercial premises have been closed for over 6 weeks, they certainly need a deep clean before anyone could return safely to work on a regular basis. The office furniture should be moved and all surfaces under and behind it should be thoroughly cleaned.

In post-COVID cleaning all cleaners should be using a colour-coded system to avoid cross contamination and minimise infection spread.

Freeing Space

When returning to work, employees should have enough space to maintain social distancing where possible. So, in most cases, that means a stop, or at least a significant decrease of hot desking and more cubicles instead of open plan office desks.

This measure may require changing of work patterns, times and location. It is certainly a lot to consider and carefully plan for. Some workers may have to do shifts as opposed to a full workday or work some days from home and some at the office.

Staff Training and Management

It is recommended for all businesses to conduct a back-to-office training on the new rules at the office. In addition, gentle reminders as posters or stickers should be placed in different sites of the building to prompt staff to follow health and safety guidelines.

Disinfecting and Maintenance

Deep cleaning of the premises will not be sufficient to make your office COVID-safe. Proper disinfection needs to be carried out immediately after the deep clean.

There have been recent reports by BBC that many business owners are worried to hire commercial cleaners because they aren’t sure who is qualified to do the job effectively.

As professional cleaners with over 20 years of experience, we must say this is a valid concern. There has been a massive influx of poorly-trained and unlicensed cleaners, who don’t even have comprehensive business insurance.

Qualifications, experience and insurance are all crucial when it comes to commercial cleaning services. Bredon Hill Cleaning Services are proud holders of several certificates, which enable us to carry out highly effective and reliable services on a variety of commercial settings.

We are currently working with a number of local schools, nurseries, offices, factories and serviced apartments.

It is every employer’s responsibility to make their staff feel safe at work. We can work with you to achieve this. Contact us on 01684342501 / 07894241168 or email us on hristina@bredonhillcleaningservices.co.uk.

How We Spent the Lockdown at Bredon Hill Cleaning Services

How We Spent the Lockdown at Bredon Hill Cleaning Services

During the lockdown the internet was overflowing with challenges, workout videos and fun activities for everyone to get involved. The last 9 weeks were both a curse and a blessing. Many businesses and individuals lost their income, people had to isolate away from friends and some family members. For many families, this pandemic had the most tragic outcome.

But at the same time, we can’t deny the benefits we also reaped from this long period spent at home. We were able to loosen up our tight schedule, spend quality time with our closest people and most importantly we had time to do all the things we always said we never have enough time to do. And in that last bit is the biggest blessing some of us were able to see and receive.

As a cleaning company we had to close for business for over 6 weeks. There was a lot of worry for our staff members, for our clients, for the future of Bredon Hill Cleaning Services. But a true leader shines in dark times.

For me as the founder of the company and a person, who genuinely loves her job, it was never whether we will come back as strong as before. I like taking risks, but more so, I like taking action.

Even though my team and I couldn’t perform our core services during the lockdown, we never stopped working, never stopped learning.

Over the period of 6 weeks, the entire team underwent intensive remote training on

  • Control of Cross Contamination
  • Kitchen Hygiene Control
  • Colour Coding and Infection Control

I knew that this is an essential knowledge and skills all professional cleaners will need post COVID-19. Our core company values include high quality of service and safety for both our staff and clients. I wanted to make sure wherever I send my devoted girls they will be safe and they will be able to provide an effective service to the highest of standards.

Many of my clients are like part of my family, so I genuinely care how they are coping. I kept in touch with all of them in a friendly-professional manner. Some of the messages I got in response were absolutely heartwarming. They miss us just as much as we miss them.

One of the most essential tasks for every business owner is to plan for the future. And so I did. Bredon Hill Cleaning Services is officially back to business as normal, but better and stronger than ever. We have prepared more treats and surprises for our clients and everyone who follows us online.

Stay tuned and if you need a reliable, qualified and insured cleaner call us on 01684342501 / 07894241168 or email on hristina@bredonhillcleaningservices.co.uk.

Making Schools and Nurseries COVID-Safe

Making Schools and Nurseries COVID-Safe

The Government has proposed early years education and some primary school pupils to come back to their classrooms from 1st June. The society is in two minds about this prospect, however, everyone realises that a safe and clean environment is best for all our children.

Disinfection and Cleaning for Schools

In less than 2 weeks, we expect to see Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 students to return to school. We know that the classes will be split into two and teaching staff will try really hard to help children maintain proper social distancing. This is a mission, almost close to impossible, considering the fragile age of the pupils. That’s exactly the reason why a high standard of hygiene needs to be maintained at school at all times.

Furthermore, most schools have been open during the lockdown for children of key workers. The official government guidelines say these children need to be separated from their classmates who will be returning at the beginning of June.

Before opening its doors to a new group of pupils, every primary school should think about disinfection of the premises and a deep clean. We know that most schools employ cleaning staff internally, however, in the conditions of a global pandemic, effective cleaning can only be done by specifically trained professionals. Licensing, insurance and qualifications should also be required.

Deep Cleaning Before Reopening Nurseries

There’s enough scientific research that suggests nursery age children are least affected by the spread of COVID-19. However, their immunity system is susceptible to many other infectious diseases, which is why impeccable hygiene is crucial across all childcare settings.

Most nurseries have been closed during the lockdown, while a small percentage continued to look after the children of key workers. In both scenarios a professional deep cleaning is essential before reopening or welcoming more children.

Our staff at Bredon Hill Cleaning Services attended several remote training events over the past 8 weeks to ensure we are fully prepared to provide high quality, comprehensive and effective cleaning services for commercial premises. We have been working with local nurseries and other childcare providers long before the pandemic. We would love to help more of these settings provide the safest conditions for our youngest generation.

Helping Childminders run their Business in a COVID-safe Environment

Without childminders a high percentage of the workforce will suffer. This is one of the essential small businesses that are just coming back after the lockdown.

Taking care of children helps childminders make a living and it also helps parents go back to work. It is a win-win for the economy. Also, many parents prefer sending their young children to childminders rather than nurseries to avoid mixing of large groups.

Every childminder should make sure their setting is COVID-safe before accepting any children back. Usually this involves a deep cleaning and disinfection after that. The job imposes some health hazards, so it’s best performed by qualified and certified cleaners.

As a growing business, Bredon Hill Cleaning Services we are keen on helping other small businesses, contribute to the development of the local economy and of course, serve the community to the best of our abilities. Contact us today if you need assistance for making your commercial setting COVID-safe.

How to Sanitise Your Home

How to Sanitise Your Home

One of the most relevant topics today is how to sanitise your home during a viral pandemic. As professionals we know a high level of hygiene in your living space is essential for good health. Regular sanitisation of your home can provide a good layer of protection for you and your family.

Bathroom

The bathroom is a breathing space for germs and all sorts of harmful microorganisms. In a time of world viral pandemic, you should be sanitising your bathroom and toilet daily. Always use disposable gloves, a face mask and glasses to protect main contact points and prevent infection. You could use bleach to disinfect the toilet bowl, floor and bath or shower cabin. However, bleach and bleach containing cleaning products are not recommended for people with respiratory conditions as they may cause an allergic reaction or asthma attack.

An alternative would be white vinegar or strong toilet cleaner that does not contain bleach.

Don’t forget the toilet brush and its case. Empty the water daily and add alcohol and a few drops of essential oil to kill bacteria and bring a fresh scent.

Kitchen

The other main area of your home that needs daily sanitisation is the kitchen. The floor must be mopped with a disinfectant solution. The sink and working surfaces should be wiped with anti-bacterial wipes and all cutlery, plates and pots must be washed on high temperature and with dishwashing liquid.

Living Areas

Dusting the furniture in your living room and bedrooms is also very important. Dust build-up can unlock an allergic episode for some people and if you have contracted the Coronavirus, there might be further complications.

We would advise using anti-bacterial wipes for most hard surfaces in your home, including technology, where possible. Make sure you are taking all health and safety precautions when you are disinfecting your home.

Door Handles and Radiators

Do pay special attention to your door handles, especially those on the bathroom and front doors. A lot of bacteria and germs live and breed on door handles and you can easily get infected if you unintentionally touch your face without washing your hands first.

Radiators must be regularly dusted and wiped to eliminate dirt and dust building up. Not only would this improve the hygiene levels of your home but may also bring the gas bill down. A clean radiator works much better and releases more heat.

Scientists have concluded that the virus doesn’t like temperatures higher than 26ºC and direct sunlight. While it may be impractical to make your home as hot as 26ºC, you should make sure you allow as much natural sunlight to enter your home as possible.

We hope you stay safe during these trying times and would like to remind you that our cleaning teams are still prepared to provide a safe and professional service to you.

How to Stay Safe at Home During Self-isolation

How to Stay Safe at Home During Self-isolation

Due to the current outbreak of COVID-19, the British government has strongly advised all citizens who have any of the symptoms related to the disease to self-isolate at home for 7 days. For people who have a family and any member of the family displays such symptoms, all members are expected to self-isolate for 14 days.

This is a responsible approach, which is meant to slow down the spread of the virus and potentially save many lives of the most vulnerable. But you must remember to be careful even during self-isolation. There are several things you should keep in check during your lockdown at home.

Your Maintain High Standards of Personal Hygiene

Probably one of the greatest perks of having to self-isolate is that many people would be able to work in their pants, rather than putting on suits and work dresses. That’s great and you should always feel comfortable at home. Don’t forget, however, that despite being isolated from the outside world, you still need to wash your hands with soap often and scrub your face. No, it’s not a beauty routine (although a great time to start one!). It’s a requirement to stay safe from the virus when on home lockdown.

Keep Your Home Clean and Sanitised at All Times

Personal hygiene is not enough. You will need to make sure your living environment is also sanitised on a daily basis. The Coronavirus is not deadly for most healthy individuals, but in combination with a bacterial infection, for example, it could cause a lot of damage. Even to someone with no other underlying issues. Clean your home and take the time to disinfect the most commonly used areas - bathroom, toilet, kitchen.

Know What to Do and Who to Call in an Emergency

Probably you are self-isolating because you felt at least one of the symptoms related to COVID-19. Monitor yourself and your health over the whole time you are staying at home. If you notice your symptoms are getting worse, make sure you know what to do if it gets out of your control. Create a small diagram with simple actions and a phone number to call, print it and place it somewhere you can clearly see it. Oftentimes, when we suddenly feel worse than we expected we start panicking and don’t think straight. Having a plan for action written down in simple steps helps us concentrate and do the right thing.

Check Your Food Supplies

You have probably bought enough food and essential products to last you for the period of your self-isolation. However, we all felt the effects of store shelves going empty faster than we can blink. Check your food supplies daily and if you notice you are running out of something essential make arrangements to get it. Online shopping could be one solution, but the couriers may also be overwhelmed and your order may not be delivered until several days or even a week later. A better option would be to speak to your neighbour or a friend who lives nearby and is currently not self-isolating to get what you need from the shop and leave it safely in front of your door.

In the event that the whole country goes under complete lockdown, the government should make provisions for people to receive essential supplies. Local volunteering groups may also help.

Stretch and Exercise

Do not spend a whole week in front of the computer or on the sofa binge-watching Netflix. Start every morning with a gentle stretch and mild exercises for 15-20 minutes. If you have a garden, jog for a few minutes in a circle. Not only your body will feel better, but you will be a lot more productive during the day.

Open Your Windows

Last but not least, the quality of the air you breathe at home matters a lot! You should open the windows in your bedrooms and living room for at least 30 minutes a day to ventilate and improve the air quality. If you can steam clean your rooms, this will bring extra quality to your breathing air. This is important because if you are having a cough, runny or blocked nose or difficulty breathing, fresh air will make it easier on you.

On behalf of the whole vulnerable UK population we want to thank you for being responsible and putting yourself in self-isolation even if your symptoms are extremely mild. Stay safe, protect others!

Powerful Natural Sanitisers for Your Home

Unfortunately, finding regular cleaning products in shops isn’t easy anymore. The global Coronavirus pandemic has made people stockpile on many essential and not so essential goods. Superstore and local shops are struggling to fulfill the demand for certain products and one of them being cleaning solutions and sanitisers. We already spoke to you about the importance of having your home regularly sanitised during the outbreak. But what do you do if you can’t buy the products you need? Today, we’ll share with you some powerful natural sanitisers you most likely have at home or can make yourself.

White Vinegar

White vinegar has great antibacterial and disinfectant effects. It can be used on a variety of surfaces and in addition to sanitising your home, it also helps removing some stubborn stains and the every nasty limescale. Perfect to use in the bathroom and kitchen.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is highly acidic and kills bacteria and germs, as well as cleans burnt-on, greasy stains and limescale. It is ideal for cleaning your oven, toilet, shower head and bathtub or shower cabin. It’s a good idea to use it when you are sanitising your bins as well.

Vodka or Clear Alcohol

Alcohol is probably the most powerful natural sanitiser. That’s due to the high percentage of spirit. Some people even use it to disinfect and dress wounds. That’s a clear indication for the efficiency of alcohol for sanitising your home during a viral pandemic. That being said, you need to be careful what surfaces you use the alcohol on as it may damage some wood or plastic.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Sounds like a complicated chemical, but it really is a powerful natural sanitiser. It is proven to kill 99% of germs and bacteria, as well as remove mould from walls. This is important because a mouldy environment can have a significantly negative impact on people with respiratory conditions and potentially be deadly if they also contract the Coronavirus.

Steam

Using steam to sanitise your home is a brilliant method. It imposes no health risks and even helps people with allergies and respiratory conditions breath more easily. Steam cleaning also promotes better sleep at night because it changes the structure of the air and improves its quality. Steam cleaners remove stains from hard surfaces, fabric and glass. If you are treating your carpet with steam make sure you are following the manufacturers guidelines to avoid any damage.

Essential Oils

You may have thought that essential oils only smell good, but actually they have great sanitising properties. You can add them to vodka or soap and water solutions to increase the cleaning and disinfecting power. The nice smell is just a bonus value of using natural sanitisers.

Not only these household products are effective in sanitising and protecting your home from bacteria and viruses, but they are also kind to the environment. Perhaps, even after the current crisis is over you will choose not to go back to the mainstream cleaning products on the store shelves.

Bredon Hill Cleaning Services works with eco-friendly products because we recognise the need to protect the planet and more vulnerable people, who can’t afford to be exposed to harmful chemicals.

Domestic Cleaning Business Network DCBN

What is DCBN and why did we create it

In October 2019, a few other business owners from the cleaning industry and I launched a new support network for domestic cleaners - DCBN. Domestic Cleaning Business Network was born out of the desire to share our knowledge, experience and expertise with others to help them grow. But let me explain what exactly DCBN is why it is so important to have such a network in the cleaning industry.

DCBN is a non profit trade association set up to represent the domestic cleaning industry, raise the profile and industry standards and to celebrate and support those running businesses and working in domestic cleaning throughout the UK.

All the years we’ve spent in the industry showed us that a body like that is clearly needed in our line of work. There’s so much potential we see in so many cleaning start-ups and it’s often overshadowed by lack of direction and knowledge. We want to change that. We want people to respect everyone who works in the cleaning industry and we want the workers to do their job with pride and smile on their face.

At DCBN, we work with an array of specialists in marketing, business development, accounting and other important areas for growth. We run frequent training and networking events where our primary aim is to connect cleaning businesses and stimulate them to work together rather than being sore competitors.

The platform has three types of membership - for self-employed cleaners, for cleaning companies and for affiliate members. Each membership has its own benefits which are specifically designed to answer the needs of everyone who joins the network. Members also have access to private professional forums where they could receive advice and support in real time.

The existence of a professional body like DCBN is beneficial not only for people working in the industry, but for the consumers too. We make sure that the businesses and solo cleaners who register with us are legitimate providers and they have access to specific training session, which impacts the quality of their work. For you as a potential client, hiring someone who is a member of a professional organisation like DCBN, would bring a peace of mind and reassurance that you leave your home in capable and reliable hands.

The first training and networking event DCBN hosts will be on Sunday, 12th January at Oxford. For more details and registration, check Eventbrite.
